This is a famous Jewish Recipe, for a delicious Beef Brisket made with Coca Cola. The flavors cook together and is a simple cost saving meal. Men love this recipe and eat slices for days, so we recommend a large brisket.
Ingredients
- 1 3 to 4 pound beef brisket
- 1 envelope dry Lipton onion soup mix
- 1 can diced tomatoes
- 1 12 oz. bottle of regular Coca Cola
Directions
- Preheat oven to 325 degrees F.
- Trim meat of as much fat as possible.
- Place the brisket in a 9 x 13 shallow baking pan and sprinkle with the dry onion soup mix.
- Top with the can of diced tomatoes.
- Pour the Coca-Cola over top. With a spoon, spread the tomatoes all over the brisket to make sure all of the meat is covered.
- Cover tightly with aluminum foil and bake in preheated oven 3 to 4 hours or until brisket is fork tender.
- Important: Remove the brisket from the oven, and let it rest for at least 20 minutes. This will give the meat time for the juices to re-distribute.
- Brisket traditionally has more flavor the next day
- Slice thinly against the grain.
